Which operating systems are supported?

Mohlin SuperScaler currently supports Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Mac and Linux versions are planned for the future.

What are the minimum system requirements?

• Windows 10 or Windows 11
• 4 GB RAM (8 GB recommended)
• 500 MB free disk space
• 1280×720 display or higher

Do I need a GPU to use SuperScaler?

No. SuperScaler runs on CPU as well, but an NVIDIA GPU with CUDA provides 10–50× faster processing, depending on image size and model type.

How do I install the program?

SuperScaler does not require installation. It is a portable .exe.

To start the program:

1. Download the file MohlinSuperScaler.exe
2. Double-click it to run — no installer required
3. Move the file anywhere you like (Desktop, folder, USB drive)
4. A 24-hour trial activates automatically on first launch.

Can I run SuperScaler using Python code?

No. SuperScaler is only available as a Windows .exe application. Python source code is not available.

Which file formats are supported?

Input: JPG, PNG, BMP, TIFF

Output: PNG (recommended), JPEG

What is the maximum image size?

Image size is limited only by available RAM.

With 8 GB RAM, you can typically process images up to 10,000 × 10,000 px.

What upscale factors are available?

SuperScaler supports 2×, 4×, 6×, and 8×.

Higher upscale factors take longer but produce more detail.

How does Auto Perfect Mode work?

Auto Perfect Mode analyzes your image and applies the optimal combination of:

• Noise reduction
• Detail enhancement
• Color correction
• Texture balancing
• Model selection

It's ideal for users who want automatic, intelligent enhancement.

What is Fabric Smoothing Mode?

It reduces unwanted texture and grain on smooth surfaces (e.g., fabric, walls, backgrounds) while preserving:

• Facial details
• Hair
• Edges
• Important textures

How does batch processing work?

1. Go to File → Batch Mode
2. Select the folder containing your images
3. Choose an output folder
4. Click Start Processing

SuperScaler will automatically enhance and upscale all images.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. A 24-hour full-feature trial activates automatically on the first launch.

Can I use the trial multiple times?

No. Only one trial per machine is allowed.

How do I activate my license?

1. Start the program
2. Go to Help → License
3. Enter your license key
4. Click Activate

Does the license work offline?

Yes. After activation, SuperScaler works offline for up to 24 hours.

Internet is required only for initial verification.

Can I use my license on multiple computers?

It depends on your license type.

Standard licenses allow activation on one machine.

Contact support for multi-device licenses.

What if I change computers?

You can deactivate your old machine and activate the new one.

Contact support if you need help moving your license.

Which AI models does SuperScaler use?

SuperScaler includes four advanced AI models:

• Real-ESRGAN x4plus – AI art & general images
• SwinIR RealSR X4 – Photorealistic photos & portraits
• Real-CUGAN Up4x – Illustrations & semi-vector artwork
• ESRGAN Painting x4 – Paintings, artistic textures & canvas work

How does the program choose a model?

SuperScaler analyzes the image and automatically selects the AI model best suited for:

• Photographs
• Paintings
• AI-generated images
• Illustrations

Are the AI models downloaded automatically?

Yes. Models download automatically on first use.

This requires an active internet connection.

Where are AI models stored?

Models are stored locally in the models/ folder.

File sizes range from 18–67 MB each.

Which print sizes are supported?

• A3 (29.7×42 cm)
• 40×50 cm
• 50×70 cm
• 70×100 cm
• A0 (84.1×118.9 cm)
• 16×20 in
• 24×36 in

What DPI is used for exports?

All exported print formats use true 300 DPI.

How do I know if my image is print-ready?

SuperScaler automatically displays DPI status:

• Green → Print-ready (≥300 DPI)
• Yellow → Acceptable (200–299 DPI)
• Red → Too low (<200 DPI)

Can I export multiple print sizes at once?

Yes. Use Export Prints to automatically generate all standard 300 DPI sizes.

The program feels slow — what can I do?

• Ensure your NVIDIA GPU is being used
• Increase RAM (8 GB minimum recommended)
• Use lower upscale factors (2× or 4×)
• Close background applications
• Use SSD storage for faster loading

Why do I get "Real-ESRGAN not available"?

This means the model has not been downloaded yet.

SuperScaler falls back to a basic upscaler until the model is available.

The program crashes on startup — what should I check?

• Ensure you're using Windows 10 or 11
• Ensure you have at least 4 GB RAM
• Try running the .exe as Administrator
• Contact support and include the error message

Can I use SuperScaler offline?

Yes. After the first download, all processing is local.

Only license validation requires internet at startup.

Why do my upscaled results look strange?

• Try switching AI models
• Adjust enhancement settings
• Experiment with different presets
• Contact support for help

Are my images uploaded to any server?

No. All image processing stays on your device.

No images are ever transmitted or stored externally.

What data does the program collect?

Only machine ID information needed for license validation.

No personal data or image data is collected.

Is my data secure?

Yes. All licensing communication is fully encrypted, and all images remain local.

Does SuperScaler support multiple GPUs?

Not currently. The software uses the primary CUDA-compatible GPU.

Can I run SuperScaler from the command line?

Not yet. A command-line version is planned for the future.

How do I update the software?

SuperScaler notifies you when updates are available.

You may also download the latest version from the website.

Are updates free?

Yes. All updates within the same major version are free.
